Do you need my I.D?

Yes. We operate a Challenge 25 Policy in the studio, so do remember to have I.D on hand just in case you're lucky enough to look under 25. (You're welcome!)

We require I.D for everyone receiving a service, this DOES include children for consent forms and for insurance purposes; namely, treatment liability and public liability.

My child has been pierced elsewhere and we need your help, do we still need to bring I.D?

Yes. We require I.D to prove who you are, and we require I.D to verify who the child is and what their age is.

Children's ear piercing AND jewellery change / removal services are restricted to age 8+. If your child is not aged 8 or older on the day of the appointment, we cannot proceed for insurance and liability reasons. This may result in any booking fees being forfeited as this costs us valuable time.

Why do you need I.D for myself AND my child?

We need your I.D, as the chaperoning adult, to prove who you are. We do not allow other friends or relatives to bring your children in without you. We do this in order to protect your child from being brought to us, unbeknownst to you, for piercings that you either strictly forbade or had no idea about.

We need a form of government issued I.D for your child to verify their name and their age. This is to prevent fraud; we have had parents try to dupe us with siblings I.D's. People will try all sorts!

We will also ask you to confirm on the consent form that you have legal parental responsibility for the child, please bare this in mind if you are a step-parent, co-parent, or partner of a parent.

What if I have I.D but my child doesn't?

As long as the piercing or jewellery change service is for you, then we don't need the I.D of any children you've brought along with you. If the piercing or jewellery change service is for a child, and you have I.D but the child doesn't, unfortunately we cannot proceed.

This will result in the loss of any booking fees as it has cost us our valuable time.

What forms of I.D do you accept?

We accept any hard copy form of government issued identification. They must be both valid and in-date. This includes:

- Passports

- Provisional and Full Driving Licenses

- Citizenship Cards

- Birth Certificates (with a supporting photo I.D document such as a Passport or Citizen Card.)

What is a Citizen Card and where can I get one?

CitizenCard is the only non-profit, UK-wide issuer of police-approved proof of age & ID cards.

With more than 2.5 million CitizenCards issued, Citizen Card strives to help the public by offering a cheap, safe for every day use UK ID card, which is not costly to replace and cannot be used for illegal activities such as ID theft. They also offer guidance to retailers with regards to the sale of age-restricted items and services.

They are printed with the holographic PASS Logo, they are affordable, and are widely accepted forms of I.D - meaning you can leave your precious ones, such as Passports and Birth Certificates, safely at home!

We have application leaflets in the studio or you can order yours online here.

What forms of I.D do you NOT accept?

We cannot accept the following as a legal way to verify you or your child's age:

- Birth Certificates without a supporting photo document such as a Citizen Card or Passport

- Bank Cards

- Student Cards

- Utility Bills / Letters

- NHS Numbers

- Photocopies of Passports, Driving Licenses, etc.

- Tattoos

- Social Media age listings

- Phonecalls from people vouching for you

- An adult chaperone vouching for you

- Put it this way, if it isn't on the approved I.D list (above), we can't accept it.

What if I forget mine or my child's I.D?

We operate a Challenge 25 Policy in the studio, so it is crucial to make sure you have I.D on you in case we ask you for it.

We fill in a new consent form for every appointment that includes a fresh piercing, even if you have visited us before, just in case any details have changed (such as medical information), so do be sure to bring I.D every time.

Equally, we require I.D for both parents and children where children's and teenagers piercings are concerned.

If you have forgotten yours or your child's I.D at the time of the appointment, we will be unable to proceed and any booking fees will be forfeited as this has cost us our valuable time.

You will be more than welcome to rebook for another day / time. Don't forget to bring the I.D!

What if my I.D shows my Dead Name?

We are an LGBTQIA+ Friendly studio. Please, firstly, be totally assured that we will make every effort to never refer to you by your Dead Name or Dead Pronouns; please do let us know how you wish to be addressed if this is different to the I.D that you currently have.

What do you do with I.D's?

After an in-person inspection, we simply take a picture of it and attach it to your completed digital consent form which is stored on a secure server. Our insurance policy requires us to do this, and Kirklees Council bylaws require us to keep consent forms privately stored for 7 years. We will never, ever sell your data to anyone.
